Reach Stacker Truck Operator Training Course

A reach stacker is a vehicle used for handling intermodal cargo containers in small terminals or medium-sized ports. Reach stackers are able to transport a container short distances very quickly and pile them in various rows depending on its access.

We provide reach stacker or container handler training services, operator certificates, and licenses. Apply and start at any time for accredited reach stacker training.  In this reach stacker operator training course,  learners operate a reach stacker or container handler by understanding the functions of starting, shutting down, and operating procedures. On-site training or apprenticeship are available.

Reach Truck Job Description

  • Promote safe work environment through personal actions.
  • Load and unload trucks and containers using equipment provided in safe and efficient manner.
  • Check and count freight for accuracy and/or damage. Take inventory as needed.
  • Direct product to correct area in warehouse.
  • Clear work area of loose wood and plastic, sweep area as needed.
  • Report faulty equipment, damage to racks, and other safety hazards to supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Reach Stacker Course Requirements

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are compulsory reach stacker training requirements for safety purposes. 
  • Learners joining the reach stacker operator course will prove competence in communication and mathematical literacy at NQF Level 3 (Can read and write). 
  • National ID/passport is required.
  • Your CV is necessary for job assistance. It will be presented to potential employers and recruitment agencies after your reach stacker operator course. 
  • An old copy of the reach stacker license and certificate of competence is required for the license renewal or refresher course

What does a Reach Stacker Driver do?

A reach truck operator uses a reach truck to load, move, and unload heavy materials in warehouses or large retail stores. Reach trucks are more compact than forklifts, so they’re better for moving items and maneuvering around narrow warehouse aisle configurations.
