Duties of an ADT Dump Truck Operator
  • Driving trucks to the destination site.
  • Pulling levers or turning cranks to tilt the body and dump the truck’s contents.
  • Inspecting the truck from tyres, lights and brakes to fuel, oil and water.
  • Performing pre- and post-trip inspections.
  • Keeping the truck clean and in good working order.
  • Inspecting material to ensure it has been loaded correctly and securely.
  • Reviewing shipping documents to verify data is accurate.
  • Maintaining a driver log.

The ADT Dump Truck Certificate is awarded at a cost of R4 500 for 5 days of theory and practical training.
Learners must demonstrate competency in the following areas:

1. Demonstrate knowledge of the features and functions of the ADT dump truck.
2. Work planning and site preparation.
3. Starting and stopping the ADT dump truck.
4. Drive ADT dump truck.
5. Transport ADT dump truck to and from work site.
