How Our On-site Training Works — step-by-step

1

Pre-site Planning & Quote

We confirm machine types, expected learners, PPE, site rules, power/water, practice space and risk controls. Quotes include instructor travel, materials and assessment fees.

2

Arrival, Induction & HIRA

Our instructors perform a site induction and a Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) prior to any practical sessions.

3

Theory Session (On-site)

Concise classroom-style training on site covering legal responsibilities, machine controls, pre-op checks, and safety procedures. Tailored to your equipment & tasks.

4

Practical Instruction & Coaching

Hands-on demonstration, guided practice and scenario-based tasks using your actual machines — the fastest path to real competence.

5

Formal Assessment

Written/oral knowledge checks plus practical competency observation. Assessments map to the relevant unit standards when applicable.

6

Moderation, Certification & License Card

On verified competence we issue a Certificate of Competence and Operator License Card (physical or digital as required). Records are kept for audits and renewals.

7

Refresher & Renewal (Expired Certificates)

For expired certificates we run a focused refresher + re-assessment. Successful candidates receive updated certificates and renewed operator licenses.

Why choose on-site training? — Advantages

  • Train on your machines: Immediate transfer of skills to real tasks and environments.
  • Better safety outcomes: Site-specific hazard coaching reduces incidents and insurance risk.
  • Operational efficiency: Less downtime—no travel for your team and minimal disruption.
  • Cost-effective: Group pricing and reduced admin overhead compared to sending staff off-site.
  • Audit-ready records: We provide registers and evidence for compliance audits and inspections.
  • Flexible scheduling: Day, night, weekend or shut-down windows.

Assessment, Certification & License Renewal — What to expect

Our assessment model balances safety and practicality. Assessments include:

  • Knowledge assessment: A short written or oral test covering machine operation, hazards and inspections.
  • Practical competency: Demonstration of pre-operational checks, safe operation, task completion and shutdown.
  • Moderation: Where unit standards apply, moderation is performed to ensure compliance with SETA/QCTO frameworks.

On successful assessment: We issue a Certificate of Competence and an Operator License Card. Certificates are recorded to assist with renewals; we also provide digital copies where requested.

Note: Operators with expired certificates will undergo a short refresher and re-assessment. Renewals are advisable every 24 months.

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is 'on-site' training?

On-site training means our instructors come to your premises. We run theory and practical sessions using your machines and your site environment for realistic, tailored training.

Can you issue certificates on the same day?

Where competence is demonstrated and moderation/admin can be completed, we can issue certificates promptly. Group size and moderation needs may extend timelines.

I have expired certificates — can you renew them on site?

Yes. We provide refresher training and re-assessment. Successful candidates are reissued valid certificates and license cards.

What do we need to prepare before the instructor arrives?

Provide: serviceable machines, a safe practice area, a room for theory, required PPE and ID for learners. Our pre-site checklist will be shared after booking.

Which accrediting bodies do you align with?

We align training and assessment with national quality frameworks and bodies including QCTO, TETA, CETA and the Department of Employment & Labour (OHS Act).
